Minimally Invasive Hiatal Hernia Repair

The procedure begins with a few small cuts into the abdomen in order to insert a laparoscope. The laparoscope is a small camera that transmits images to a monitor for Dr. Dasari to see the stomach and return it back to its proper place in the abdomen. Once the stomach is corrected, the camera is immediately removed and the cuts are stitched closed.
After the procedure is done, you are usually allowed to go home on the same day. Dr. Dasari may recommend that you avoid exercises that work your abdominal muscles and avoid heavy lifting.
